Solidarity: A Powerful Ring Depicting Iranian Women's Strength and Freedom

Inspired by the women who cleared and illuminated the path of freedom, Solidarity features a series of interwoven bare wires that represent the tresses of Iranian women. These tresses, which have been cut symbolically, pay homage to the mythological culture and tradition of Iran and serve as a protest against the death of Mahsa Amini. The artwork depicts women holding hands, encircling the Earth, adorned with stones of different colors that represent the racial diversity across the world.

At the heart of the planet, two golden birds, symbolizing freedom, have nested. The craftsmanship of Solidarity is truly remarkable, with all parts of the artwork being handmade. The ring can be opened and closed using a bolt-and-nut technique, allowing it to be worn in different forms. The shank of the ring can also hold shapes other than a sphere, offering versatility and customization.

Measuring 26 mm x 26 mm x 45 mm and weighing 16.26 grams, Solidarity is a testament to the designer's skill and attention to detail. The materials used include silver, bare gold wires, and synthetic gemstones. The use of these materials adds to the elegance and sophistication of the design.

Throughout history, the role of women in Iranian and global art and mythology has been significant. The recent events in Iran, particularly the Woman, Life, Freedom movement, have provided the inspiration for Solidarity. The movement's symbol of mournful women cutting their own tresses, rooted in Iranian mythology, served as the foundation for this artwork.

The creation of Solidarity was not without its challenges. The intricate sphere, the opening mechanism, and the placement of the birds required meticulous craftsmanship and creative problem-solving.
